Lisa B. Woods, Triple-Digit Trouble, 2024, 3D print, painted acrylic
Inspired by the triple-digit July heat, my installation highlights the critical issue of heat awareness for those working and recreating in the sun. Having lived in Austin since 1994, I’ve experienced the intense summer heat firsthand, from gardening to observing the harsh conditions faced by construction workers. My artwork aims to draw attention to the necessity of staying cool, hydrated, and taking breaks during Austin’s scorching summers.
Lisa's artistic practice revolves around researching ecological topics, driven by her passion for learning and sharing knowledge. She communicates her findings creatively, fostering awareness and understanding among others.
Lisa B. Woods is an Austin-based artist and community organizer. Her artwork spans installation art, interactive art, and public art. Lisa’s work is conceptual and often combines sculpture with light, interactivity, sound, and/or motion. Lisa received an MFA from California College of Arts in San Francisco.

Inspirada en el calor de tres dígitos del mes de julio, mi obra manifiesta el problema crítico de la sensibilización ante las altas temperaturas para quienes trabajan y se recrean bajo el sol. He vivido en Austin desde 1994 y he sido testigo de primera mano del intenso calor del verano, desde los trabajos de jardinería hasta ver las duras condiciones a las que se enfrentan los trabajadores de la construcción. Mi obra pretende llamar la atención sobre la necesidad de mantenerse fresco, hidratado y tomar descansos durante los abrasadores veranos de Austin.
La práctica artística de Lisa gira en torno a la investigación de temas ecológicos, impulsada por su pasión por aprender y compartir conocimientos. Comunica sus hallazgos de forma creativa, fomentando la sensibilización y la comprensión entre los demás.
Lisa B. Woods es una artista y organizadora comunitaria que radica en Austin. Sus obras abarcan instalaciones artísticas, arte interactivo y arte público. La obra de Lisa es conceptual y a menudo combina la escultura con la luz, la interactividad, el sonido y/o el movimiento. Lisa obtuvo un máster en Bellas Artes en el Colegio de Artes de California en San Francisco.

From May 2024 through April 2025, enjoy 12 eco arts shows in the solar-powered @ReallySmallMuseum_atx by Artist Juliet Whitsett as part of TEMPO on the Trail. TEMPO is a temporary art exhibition on the Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail that is intended to cultivate curiosity, spark imagination, and encourage exploration of the city of Austin and is a partnership between The Trail Conservancy and The City of Austin’s Art in Public Places (AIPP).
Desde mayo de 2024 hasta abril de 2025, disfrute de 12 exposiciones de artes ecológicas. La artista Juliet Whitsett invita a artistas colaborativos a crear exhibiciones de arte ecológico de 1 mes en @ReallySmallMuseum_atx como parte de TEMPO on the Trail. TEMPO es una exposición de arte temporal en Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail que tiene como objetivo cultivar la curiosidad, despertar la imaginación y fomentar la exploración de la ciudad de Austin y es una asociación entre The Trail Conservancy y The City of Austin's Art in Public Places. (AIPP).
